James "Jim" D. Stage, 73, of Altoona, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015, in the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls. Jim was born on April 11, 1942, in Tulsa, OK to Ben and Gertrude (Brown) Stage. At the age of 17, Jim joined the Marine Corps and served with the Recon Division in Camp Pendleton, California. On April 10, 1963, Jim was honorably discharged; and on that very same day, Jim met the love of his life, Pam, and have been together for 52 years. Jim had a passion for music and even had his own band, "Jimmy Stage and the Coachmen". He also had a radio show in Eau Claire, broadcasted on Waxx 104.5. Jim is survived by his wife, Pam; three children, Kallene (Brian) Raprager, Leigh Farrah and James Stage II; three grandchildren, Stephen and Christopher Raprager and Colin Farrah; sister, Roberta (Melvin) Rude; two brothers, Richard (Cheryl) Stage and Jerry (Pam) Stage; brother-in-law, Stephen (Laura) Harmon; sister-in-law, Deborah Lancaster; and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Opal "Punky" Luhman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff members at the Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls for all the wonderful care shown to Jim. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at the Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire with military honors conducted by the Eau Claire VFW Post #305.
