JAMES M. MING, 68, of 1225 Pershing St., died suddenly, on January 14, 2001, at his home. He was born August 29, 1932 in Eau Claire to Walter and Lilly (Hanson) Ming. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1950.\r\nHe started working at Johnson Printing in 1951 and was employed there until entering the service. Jim served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict with the Company B 84th Engineer Battalion, from December 13, 1952 until his honorable discharge on November 30, 1954. Jim returned to work atJohnson Printing where he was a faithful and dedicated employee for over 35 years, retiring as First Pressman in 1991.\r\nJim married Ruth Sly in Stillwater, Minnesota in September 1958\r\nOne of Jim's greatest joys was his grandchildren, who loved him dearly. Jim was an avid fisherman. He was a life long resident of the Mt. Simon area, and an exclusive member of the "Mt. Simon Garage Boys."\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Nancy (David) Quast of Wauwatosa and their children, Anna and Julia; two sons, James (Mary) Ming, of Eau Claire and their children, Nicole, Natasha, Richay, Ariah, and great grandson, Darian, and David (Elvie) Ming, of Eau Claire and their children, P.J. and Kimberly; a sister, Bonnie (Hermie) Nowak of Eau Claire; three brothers, LeRoy (Judy) Ming and Gary Ming both of Eau Claire, and Vernon (Dianne) Ming of Fall Creek; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey; and a sister, Virginia Ming. \r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2001, at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\n
