James "Rob" V. Robertson, 58, of Mt. Horeb and formerly of Eau Claire passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Mt. Horeb. \r\nJim was born on March 19, 1950, in Eau Claire to Janice and Victor Robertson. He was raised in Eau Claire and graduated from Regis High School. He had a great love for snowmobiling, sports and the outdoors. \r\nJim worked at Uniroyal for many years. He then became a registered nurse working in the operating room at various hospitals, most recently at the Madison V.A. Hospital. Serving in the U.S. Military was a big part of his life. He was activated in Desert Storm and was most recently a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve working at Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska, serving until January, 2007.\r\nHe will be remembered especially for the love he had for his family and friends. He always lived life to its fullest. Jim loved spending his free time on the farm and making maple syrup at the family cabin.\r\nJim is survived by a daughter, Nicole (Joe) Manny of Chippewa Falls; a son, David Robertson of Eau Claire; his father, Victor Robertson of Eau Claire; fiancé, Valla Zentner of Mt. Horeb; two sisters, Anne (Kevin) Flahive of Wausau, and Cheri (Tim) Leith of Rothschild; a brother, Mike (Caroline) Robertson of Wheeler; Kyle and Ryan LaFond, who were very special people in his life; foreign exchange student, Carlos; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his mother, Janice. \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father John A. Schultz celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be Monday, March 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday. An additional visitation will be Sunday, March 30th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Ellestad Funeral Home in Mt. Horeb.
