Jane Ellen Cronkhite, 69, of Chippewa Falls, WI, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire. She was born on January 7, 1944, in Eau Claire, WI, to John and Thelma (Simonson) Hoover. Jane had a never ending positive spirit, a genuine love of life and lived her life to the fullest. Her favorite saying was, "When the music stops, I'll still be dancing". Jane loved to be at the lake, camping and fishing with her partner, Doug. Now she soars with the eagles that she loved to watch. Jane enjoyed reading a good book, bird watching, or working in her flower gardens. She did beautiful embroidery, knitting, crocheting and quilting. Jane was also very generous and would help out when anyone needed her. Jane was employed at several jobs during her working years. She worked at Heckle's Big Steer, National Presto (for 10 years) and Cray (SGI) for over 20 years. She traveled to several countries for Cray (SGI) while in the international shipping department. Jane is survived by her companion and best friend of 33 years, Douglas Bye; granddaughter, Crystine Adams; siblings, Anne (Tom) Ohrt, Nancy Hoover (Kathy Geissler), Cindy (Dan) Bauer, Daniel (Karen) Hoover, and John M. (Kathy) Hoover. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, Todd Kurtz, Kari (Todd) Court, Val (Casey) Erickson, Ryan (Deb) Hoover, Marie (Josh) Webb, Aaron (Crystal) Bauer, Ericka Frahm, Jennifer Kloss, Juli (Mike) Sieve, and James Hoover. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma Hoover; husband, Don Cronkhite; and son, Carl E. Adams. A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Pastor Rolf Nestingen of Saving Grace Lutheran Church will be officiating. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
