Jane E. Dagitz, age 65, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2006, at her home in Eau Claire, WI, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.\r\nJane was born in Carroll, Iowa, on July 19, 1940. She graduated from Kuemper High School in Carroll, IA in 1958. She attended St. Mary's College in Omaha, and was later employed as a dental assistant.\r\nIn 1964, Jane met and married Roger L. Dagitz while working in Minneapolis. They remained loving partners for the following 42 years.\r\nKnown for her truly legendary chocolate chip cookies, Jane was like a second mom to many. She was an incredible homemaker, who adored her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. \r\nJane was a very spiritual individual, who believed that a higher power was guiding her life. Nothing was more important to Jane than making sure she had time for each and every person who needed her help. Her open heart, generous spirit, and nurturing soul profoundly affected many lives. Jane spent 27 years in the AA program, which truly brought out the very best that Jane had to offer. She served as a long time board member for the Alano Triangle Club 76 in Eau Claire, WI.\r\nJane volunteered her time and heart in many ways including working with high school students with addictions, facilitating groups for those with anxiety/panic disorders, and the Addiction Intervention Ministries through Lutheran Social Services. \r\nBesides her husband Roger, Jane is survived by her daughter, Angela (Steven) Johnson of Oshkosh WI; her grandson Krisstofer Johnson of Oshkosh WI; her son, John (Deborah) Dagitz of Middleton WI; and her granddaughters, Madison and Isabel Dagitz of Middleton WI. Her remaining siblings include Louann Nockels of New York City; John Nockels of San Francisco; Pamela Dowie of Waterloo, IA; Paula Asgarian of Las Vegas, NV; and Tony Nockels of Camino Island, WA.\r\nJane was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty Nockels; and a brother, Rusty, who died in infancy. \r\nMemorial services for Jane will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with Pastor David K. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bellevue, Iowa. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and again Wednesday one hour prior to services at church.\r\nMemorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Hospice, St. Joseph's Homecare Hospice, 2661 Cty.
