Obituary

Jane Owen Kornitzer, 59, of 8681 Hillview Rd., Fall Creek died Wednesday, August 6, 1997 at Luther Hospital after a short illness. She was born June 29, 1938 in Pueblo, Colorado to Ralph and Mary (Proctor) Owen. Jane spent her youth in Menomonie, WI, She attended Wayland Academy, Hobart William Smith College and Weber College in Winter Park,FL where she met her future husband, William J. Kornitzer Jr, a career Air Force Officer.They were married October 14, 1961 in Menomonie,WI.\r\nJane and her husband made 17 moves around the world during their 26 year Air Force career. She served as a volunteer in numerous Air Force activities including Family Services, the American Red Cross and the Officer's Wives Club. They returned to Eau Claire in 1988.\r\nSurvivors include her husband of 35 years, William; three children, two sons, William (Rebecca) of Kansas City,KS, Stephen (Theresa) of Seattle,WA; one daughter, Linda Kollross (Gerald) of Oklahoma City,OK; five grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Owen (Carolyn) of Plano,TX; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Stephen.\r\nMemorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ Church Cathedral with the Very Reverend H. Scott Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire,WI. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in her memory to the Oncology Department at Luther Hospital.\r\nJane will be greatly missed by her family and friends. o\r\nLenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\n
