Janet D Judkins, 81, of Eau Claire died Monday, December 31, 2012, at Our House Memory Care in Eau Claire, with her daughter, Debra, by her side. Janet was born on March 25, 1931, in Eau Claire, WI, a daughter of Oscar and Caroline (Dahl) Paulson. She had worked as an LPN at Luther Hospital for many years and later worked with her husband, Daniel, at Transmission Specialties on Water Street. In her life, mom enjoyed spending time with her family. She was devoted to her husband and her dog. As her daughter, I can say, she was the best mom in the world and always was a source of love and support to me, something I will be eternally grateful for. Those who knew her will remember her kindness and her smile. Janet is survived by her daughter, Debra (Tom) Manning; grandchildren, Allison Rice and Adam (Angie) Sommers; a great-granddaughter, Ember Sommers; and step-granddaughter, Miriel Manning. Janet is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; five sisters, Margaret Barney, Marion Wagner, Evelyn Lawrence, Alice Gessner and Beverly Sauders; nine brothers, Peter, Johnny, George, Orville, Chester, John, Leonard, Ralph and Raymond Paulson. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire with Deacon Larry Agema officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Janet's family would like to thank the staff at Our House Memory Care for their loving care given to Janet and also like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Hospice for their help in making mom comfortable in her last days.
