Obituary

Janet "Jan" G. Marmsoler, age 88, of Eau Claire, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 2, 1923, in Junction City, WI, to Charles and Rose (Tessmer) Doescher. At the age of eight, she moved with her family, to Stratford, WI, where she graduated from Stratford High School with the class of 1942. Jan married Reinhardt Spindler in Stratford in 1943. Reinhardt died in 1968. She married Ronald A. Marmsoler on June 18, 1980, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Jan worked 29 years as a nurse's aide at Luther Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, an active member at the Eau Claire Senior Center, and loved dancing, which is when she met Ronald. Jan enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, playing cribbage, baking cookies, sending greeting cards, and keeping in touch with family and friends. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, and will be deeply missed. Jan is survived by her daughters, Diane (Perry) Nyseth of Mondovi and Cynthia (Roger) Stauffer of Sanford, MI; step-daughter, Maxine (Ronald) Kalisz of Morton Grove, IL; grandchildren, Chad Nyseth, Hal (Michelle) Nyseth, Rebekah (Joshua) Woehrer, Daniel (Kelly) Stauffer, Michael (Jessica) Stauffer, Philip Stauffer, John Kalisz, David Kalisz, and Kevin Kalisz; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Isabella Nyseth, Trinity Woehrer, and Hannah Stauffer; sister, Janice Thomas of Wisconsin Rapids; brothers, Harold Doescher of Wisconsin Rapids, LeRoy (Marlene) Doescher of Junction City, and Ronald (Marcia) Doescher of Wisconsin Rapids; sisters-in-law, Delores Doescher of Wisconsin Rapids, Iola Doescher of Wausau, Betty Doescher of Nekoosa, WI, and Josephine (Jim) Mannigel of Marshfield, WI; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Jan was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald in 2005; her parents; brothers, Charles Doescher Jr., LaVern Doescher, and Leonard Doescher; brother-in-law, William Thomas; half-brothers, Irvin, Clayton, Marlin, and Ellard ; and half- sisters, Violet, Iva and two sisters in infancy. Funeral Service will be at 1PM, Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 601 Fall Street, with Rev. Carlton Kangas and Rev. W. Roger Stauffer officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior the service at church. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Community Health Partnership and to St. Joseph's Hospice for all their compassionate care for Jan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
