Janice M. Robertson, 75, of 2404 4th St., Eau Claire, died peacefully Friday, May 17, 2002 surrounded by her loving family at Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on March 10, 1927 to Erwin and Wilma (Gross) Ruff in Cream, Wisconsin, Buffalo County. She grew up in Cream and Cleghorn, than spent all of her adult life in Eau Claire. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1944. Jan married Victor W. Robertson on September 18, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire.\r\nJan worked as a telephone operator and in the engineering dept. for Wisconsin Bell until her retirement. \r\nShe was a charter member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church, where she gave many hours for various activities, and was a past president of St. James Rosary Confraternity and member of St. Bridget's group. She was a life member of the Vacationland Council of the Telephone Pioneers, a member of Lay Associates Third Order of St. Francis, Chippewa Valley Homemakers Club and Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary. She was a hospital and United Cerebral Palsy volunteer. \r\nShe is survived by her husband, Victor; four children, Jim of Mt, Horeb, Anne (Kevin) Flahive and Cheri (Tim) Leith both of Wausau, and Mike (Caroline) of Wheeler; ten grandchildren, Nicole (Joe) Manny, David Robertson, Matthew, Meghan, and MacKenzie Flahive, Lindsy, Courtney and Molly Leith, Joey and Patrick Robertson; four sisters, Margaret Birtzer and Bernice Blomquist both of Eau Claire, Thelma (Jerry) Schilling of Fall Creek, and Carol (Bruce) Britten of Florida, South Africa; three brothers, Donald Ruff of Eau Claire, Irving Ruff of Murphy, NC, and Melvin (Vicky) Ruff of Janesville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.\r\nJan was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ivadell Kjesbo.\r\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. There will be a public prayer vigil service and rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.\r\nHer family requests memorials be directed to Sacred Heart Hospital.
