Jay A. Missman, 79, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at Clairemont Nursing Home. He was born in Windom, Minnesota on April 9, 1926, the son of Bert&Myrtle (Hyde) Missman. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy from May 1944 to June 1964. Over his Navy career he was stationed in various parts of the world. \r\nJay married Floyce M. (Walsingham) Craig on August 18, 1973, in Eau Claire. \r\nJay and Floyce owned and operated Jay's Bar in Eau Claire before moving to Phoenix, AZ, in 1977. Following their retirement Jay and Floyce moved back to Eau Claire in 1987. \r\nHe was a member of Evangel Assembly of God church in Eau Claire.\r\nJay is survived by his step-daughter, Kathryn L. (Gerald) Meyer of Eau Claire; three step-grandchildren, Carrie M. Thomas of Eau Claire; Michael J. Thomas of Rineyville, KY and Zachary C. (Rachael) Craig of Baton Rouge, LA; two step-great grandchildren, Alex and Erica; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.\r\nHe is preceded in death by his loving wife, Floyce in 1998; his parents, two brothers, a twin, Ray and Bud Missman; and his sister, Lula Archer; \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2005 at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral with Pastor Steven L. Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the Funeral Home. \r\n
