Jean A. Hagen, 80, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Syverson Lutheran Home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.\r\nShe was born October 16, 1927, in Rhinelander, WI, the daughter of Cecile (Cass) Glenn. \r\nJean married Laurence J. Hagen on August 16, 1947, in Eau Claire, WI.\r\nShe was a long time member of St. James the Greater Parish, where she sang in the church choir and volunteered whenever she could. Jean was also a member of the Catholic Women's League.\r\nJean is survived by her daughter, Susan (Gary) Sam of Belleville, WI; a son, James (Lisa) Hagen of The Woodlands, Texas; five grandchildren, Jessica (Stephan) Esser of Monona, WI, and Tyler, Hannah, Michael, and Jack Hagen, all of The Woodlands, Texas; and by a great granddaughter, Samantha Esser of Monona, WI. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her mother; and her husband, Laurence in 1999. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Wisconsin, 1227B Menomonie St., Eau Claire, WI 54703 or St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer vigil. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.\r\n
