Jean L. Rostad, 88, formerly of 3015 Ellis Street, Eau Claire died Monday, February 27, 2006, at Bethany Riverside Lutheran Home in La Crosse, Wisconsin.\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on May 8, 1917, to Andrew and Amanda (Tiller) Knutson. Jean married Lyle N. Rostad in Eau Claire on June 5, 1948, and they were married for 53 years until Lyle's death in 2001. \r\nJean moved to Menomonie, WI as a child and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1935. A registered nurse, she graduated from Luther Hospital School of Nursing in Eau Claire and worked there as a head nurse. She was a former member of the Development Council at Luther Hospital, and a volunteer nurse for the Red Cross.\r\nA member of Grace Lutheran Church, she served on the Board of Deacons and Board of Education, was active in the Women's Circles, and taught Sunday school for twenty years. \r\nJean loved her volunteer position as organist at the Syverson Lutheran Home. She and Lyle also served as co-presidents of the Nordmanns Forbundet, a Norwegian cultural organization. She was a wonderful Grandmother and will be dearly missed by her five grandchildren.\r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Mary (Stephen) Waller of LaCrescent, MN; son, Peter (Debbie) Rostad of Atlanta, GA; Five grandchildren, Andrew (Emily), Mark and Daniel Waller, and Erik and Kristina Rostad; brother, Andrew (Joan) Knutson of Mahtomedi, MN; sister Ardelle (Warren) Fish of Leesburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews. \r\nJean was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister Luella Torgerson; and a nephew Paul Knutson.\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m.Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Grace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\nMemorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W.
