Obituary

JEAN I. SEVERSON, 73, of 3428 Blakeley Avenue died Sunday, October 6, 1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born January 22, 1923 in the Town of Washington, Eau Claire County to Edward and Jennie (Carlson) Landis. Jean married Milford "Mickey" Severson on August 29, 1942 in Eau Claire. \r\nShe worked as a beautician in the Eau Claire area for many years where she did excellent work and was appreciated by all her clients. Jean and Mickey built and operated the Fox Run Tavern with their children for approximately ten years. When Mickey retired they bought a motor home and spent much of their time traveling. Following Mickey's death in 1985, Jean bought a trailer which she parked at her son, Dan's campground at Rock Lake.Jean had a real zest for life and made many good friends over the years.\r\nSurvivors include a son, Dan (Liz) Severson of Bloomer; two daughters, Teri Weber of Eau Claire and Bonnie (James) Jackson of Chippewa Falls; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson; two sisters-in-law, Phylis Landis of Fall Creek and Sally Ehlinger of Altoona; a brother-in-law, Ben Jeffers of Prairie Du Chien; \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey; a grandson; three brothers, Hank and Art Nordstrom and Ed Landis; three sisters; Nora "Sis" McKusick, Mildred Haskins and Lillian Jeffers.\r\nJean will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Thursday at Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor James R. Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
