Obituary

Jeanette M. Freitag, 96, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2006, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire with her family by her side.\r\nShe was born on February 11, 1910, in Eau Claire, WI, and was the last surviving child of nine brothers and sisters. She attended and graduated from Eau Claire grade and high schools. She also attended Howe School of Business in Muskegon, MI. \r\nJeanette married Edward H. Freitag on October 15, 1944 in Oshkosh, WI.\r\nJeanette worked for the Eau Claire Truckers Union, Pathos Farms, Sophia's Pancake House, and helped her husband, Edward, farm 1,240 acres. She was an avid animal lover and co-owned the Brass Bar Pony Farm in Chippewa County. \r\nJeanette moved with her husband to Pasco, WA, where she worked for Lamb Weston. She also found the time to devote to others and was presented an award by the Washington State Center for Voluntary Action for her superb work with Green Thumb. \r\nThis beautiful lady had true close friends no matter where her journey in life went, a family that loved and marveled at her kindness and caring ways in all she did. Jeanette had a special zest for making others happy which made her one of God's special people for all eternity. Jeanette was thrilled when those that loved her the most would spend time visiting and sharing stories and pictures of years gone by. Children and animals were her daily source of smiles. Her grandson Michael was her pride and joy, always making her proud. Her life long friends, Sophia Pathos of Eau Claire, WI, and Beverly Schick of Pasco, WA, made her days brighter just by being in them. \r\nSurvivors include her son, Herbert H Freitag of Eau Claire, WI; and a grandson, Michael S. Freitag of Elmhurst, IL.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; four brothers; and four sisters.\r\nThis very special mom, grandmother, mentor, listener and friend to all who were blessed to have known her, will be sadly missed. The family is comforted knowing that she is being hugged in the loving arms of the Lord and is being welcomed into heaven triumphantly where we will see her again one day soon.\r\nA private memorial service will be celebrated as her final wish by her family with burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. \r\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin in her memory.\r\nLenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home of Eau Claire is serving the family.
