McSorley
August 8, 1936 – February 1, 2026
Jeanette Marie (Johnston) McSorley, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1st, 2026, surrounded by her family. Jeanette was born August 8th, 1936 to Carl and Leona Johnston of Augusta. The eldest sister to Dean, Dale, and Larry.
Jeanette graduated from Augusta High School and enrolled in Secretarial Vocational School (CVTC). Upon graduation she began working at First Federal Savings and Loan where she met her husband, Larry. She moved to Minneapolis to work for Northwestern Bank until she returned to Eau Claire and married Larry June 27th, 1964. She worked for Wisconsin Indian Head Tourist Bureau until becoming a stay-at-home mom to her 4 children. Once the children entered high school she returned to work at AAA as a telemarketer and insurance agent. She then became an insurance agent at Area Insurance. She moved to Royal Credit Union from which she retired.
Larry and Jeanette enjoyed dancing the polka at Fournier's Ballroom in their dating years. Jeanette's love language was food and was always the hostess with the most-est. Larry and Jeanette enjoyed camping, biking, and being with their family.
A special thank you to all those that provided her wonderful care at Dove South. You truly brightened her last years.
Survived by her husband, Larry; four children, Cheryl (Dean), Rick, Sarah (Rick), Todd (Angie); eleven grandchildren, Emma (Nate), Graham (Katie), Colin, Maiya, Cade, Kyle, Isabel, Cooper, Griffin, Adela, and Burg; two great grandchildren, Oliver and Theodore; brother Dale (Chris); and many other extended family.
Preceded in death by daughter, Renee; parents, Carl and Lenoa; and two brothers; Dean and Larry.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Spirit Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St., Eau Claire, with Pastor Randy Skow-Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
