Jeanette L. Onsgard, 69, of Elk Mound, went to see our Lord &Savior on Saturday, December 5, 2009.\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on July 7, 1940, the daughter of Ralph and Elaine (Lahner) Leirmo. Jeanette attended Oak Knoll Elementary School and Chippewa Falls High School where she graduated in June of 1958. She graduated from the School of Aeronautics (for flight attendants) of Missouri in March of 1959. \r\nJeanette married Gerald V. Onsgard on August 31, 1959, in St. Paul, MN.\r\nShe worked for SuperValu for 25 years starting in data entry and worked her way to produce sales supervisor retiring in 2000. After 41 years in Minnesota, Gerald and Jeanette moved back home to Elk Mound. Following retirement, she worked part-time in the Elk Mound Schools and also at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport. \r\nJeanette was a devoted member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church where she was always eager to help. \r\nShe was an avid gardener and nature lover. Jeanette had a natural talent for arts and crafts. She will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. \r\nShe is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald; three children, Christine (David) Hetzer Sr. of Prior Lake, MN, Liana (David) Sherer of Champlin, MN, Craig (Jennifer) Onsgard of Plymouth, MN; her mother, Elaine (Lahner) Leirmo; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, David Jr., Tricia, Nyobi, Katelyn, Hannah, and Olivia; a great-grandchild, Arianna; four brothers, Jerry (Suzanne) Leirmo of Arlington, TX, Ralph Jr. (Mary) Leirmo of Elk Mound, Gene (Wendalyn) Leirmo of Elk Mound, and Dennis (Sandy) Leirmo of Bloomer; three sisters, Joanne (Arlyn) Solberg of Elk Mound, Barbara (Ben) Topper of Downsville, and Dorothy Goglio of Madison; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her father, Ralph.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, Elk Mound, with Pastor Hal A. Schroetter officiating. Burial will be in Big Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services, Thursday, at church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
