Gerald "Jerry" Lanners, age 81, of Chippewa Falls, died unexpectedly at his home on June 24, 2014. Jerry was born April 4, 1933, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Raymond and Francis (Loschko) Lanners. Jerry retired from W.S. Darley in 1998. Jerry had many interests; in the winter months he would repair snow blowers and during the summer he repaired lawnmowers. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, reading Louis L'Amour novels, and in the evenings he could be found watching Wheel of Fortune. Jerry was also a regular usher at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Monica, his ten children, Brian (Joyce) Lanners , Terry (Cindy) Lanners, Brenda Mroch, Lori (Bob) Geissler, Sue Foss, Ron (Jason) Lanners, Kevin (Kim) Lanners, Peggy (Tony Wolk) Lanners, Jamie (Stacy) Lanners, all of Chippewa Falls, and Wanda (Steve) Lanners of Eau Claire; brother, Donald (Dolores) Lanners of Rochester, MN; twenty four grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Jerry will be further missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Francis; sister, Dorothy Bowe, brother in law Roger Bowe; son in law Charles Mroch; two granddaughters, Samantha Lanners, and Marissa Kay Lanners. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 810 Pearl St. Chippewa Falls, visitation from 9:00 a.m. to10:30 a.m. at the church. Jerry will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery, Tilden, WI.
