Jo Wildenberg, 76, of Eau Claire, WI died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on September 14, 1941, and was raised in Bloomer, WI. On June 5, 1959, Jo married Henry Wildenberg. Jo worked in customer service for Sears Service Department for 25 years. She later retired to stay home to watch her grandchildren. Family was most important in her life. She cherished her 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jo was Mom/Grandma to many, including several AFS kids throughout the years. The bonds she made with them never ended. They were HER kids. Hosting a student meant they became family. Jo is survived by her spouse Henry "Hank" Wildenberg; children, Peter (Paula) Wildenberg, Penny Nicol and Bobbi Potter (Mark Paulsrud); grandchildren, Leah (Amanda) Nicol, Ally Nicol (Tessa Pals) and Tony (Misty) Potter; great-grandchildren, Tayen, Max and Easton; special grandchildren, Alonso, Priscilla, Giuliana, Amaia and Brody; and a brother, Mike (Sandy) Lehrer. She was Auntie JoJo to her nieces and nephews Jackie, Jeannine, John and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jane Lehrer; sister, Jan Lane; and son-in-law, John Kurth. Those who remember Jo will know she enjoyed cheering for her kids and grandkids in whatever they were doing. She enjoyed bowling, camping, theatre, traveling, going out to eat and planning menus. She will be missed by many close friends, neighbors and family. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7 pm with Sister Yvonne Heiss leading the service.
