Obituary

Jodi L. (Welk) Lind, 36, of Elk Mound went peacefully home to her eternal reward to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 24, 2006, following a four year courageous battle with cancer. \r\nShe was born on December 30, 1969, the daughter of James and Mary Lou (Stang) Welk.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School with the class of 1988. \r\nFollowing her high school graduation, Jodi worked at Subway, Cheese to Please, and The Limited for several years. \r\nJodi married Richard A. Lind on August 29, 1998, at Tabernacle of Praise in Eau Claire. Following their marriage, Jodi became a stay-at-home mother and home schooled her children.\r\nDuring her childhood, Jodi became an avid fast pitch softball fan following her father's pitching career. Most recently, she was on the ISC World Softball Committee that was held in Eau Claire in 2005. Her relationship with Jesus Christ and church was also a very important part of Jodi's life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always put them first. She was an inspiration to many.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Rick; three children, Kaitlyn Welk-Robbins, Nathanael Lind, and Ciera Lind; her parents, Jim and Mary Lou of Elk Mound; two brothers, Randy (Janis) VanDenHeuvel of Quinissec, MI, and David (Cindy Vinton) Welk of Elk Mound; three sisters, Rebecca (Chris Schmitt) of Charlottesville, VA, Shawn (Curt Prindiville) Simonson of Eau Claire, Rhonda (Fred Hegeholz) Welk of Eau Claire; mother-in-law, Betty Lind of Mondovi; a grandmother, Mildred Welk of Menomonie; and by numerous other relatives and friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her grandparents Fritz and Vivian Stang, and Gene Welk.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006, at Tabernacle of Praise, Eau Claire with Pastor Terry Matlock officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle of Praise and one hour prior to services Friday. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\nThe family wishes to thank St. Joseph's Hospice, especially Carol, Diane, and Miss Donna. Also, many thanks to friends and family who helped in anyway during her time of need. \r\n
