John Edward Albertson, 64, of Eau Claire, WI, died suddenly of natural causes on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1960 in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Cecil and Helen (Heckathorn) Albertson. John was the only boy amongst five Albertson siblings. He was blessed with two sons, Christopher and Matthew. Even before retiring in 2024, John always felt most at home when riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle - whether by himself on country roads or as part of an organized ride for an important cause. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and old war memorabilia - he was close to both his father (Cecil) and uncle Vic who served in WWII, so he always found special meaning in items from that era. Continuing his love for collecting and tinkering, John always had a few cars and motorcycles in the driveway, taking special pride in restoring a few rare military Jeeps and specialized vehicles from the 1940s. And finally, he loved spending time with his family - known lovingly as Papa John by his two granddaughters. He is survived by his two sons, Chris (Ashley) and Matthew Albertson; two granddaughters, Capri and Haven; two sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Bean and Linda Shay; brothers-in-law, Gene (Vicki) Sandvig and Mike (Diane) Paulsrud; and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces/nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Vicki (Gene) Sandvig and Diane (Mike) Paulsrud; and brother-in-law, Mike (Cheryl) Bean. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in the form of monetary donations, either in-person or sent to the following address: John Albertson Memorial, 4188 110th St., Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 Those gifts will be donated to the Ridin' for a Reason rally, an annual fundraiser that supports Marshfield Clinic's mobile mammography unit and was near to John's heart. Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2025, 10:00am - 11:00am at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services, 814 1st Ave, Eau Claire, WI.
