Allen, 86, of Eau\r\n Claire, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at The\r\nClairemont. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHe was born on May 13, 1924 in Centralia, Washington,\r\nto Harry and Hortonse (Achey) Allen.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJohn enlisted in the Army in 1942, and served in the\r\nEuropean Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOn April 14, 1946 he married Marion Nauman at Grace Lutheran\r\nChurch in Eau Claire.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJohn was employed at Northern States Power Company for over\r\n30 years. He loved to travel and golf, and he belonged to the "Old\r\nGoats Club."\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his wife Marion; their son, Michael\r\n(Carrie) of Red Wing, MN; their daughter, Cynthia (Gene) Bowe of Eau Claire;\r\ntwo grandchildren, Amanda and Alison Bowe; brothers, Joseph (Glenda) and David\r\n(Jo); best friends, Sam Anderson, William Conrad, Dennis Spicer, Rod Palmer,\r\nand Charles Woodward; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Bette) Nauman and Richard\r\n(Karen) Nauman.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Allen; his\r\nparents; and his brother, Bill.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 7,\r\n2011 at Shepherd of the Hill\r\n Lutheran Church,\r\n207 University St.,\r\nElk Mound with Pastor Michael Wollman officiating. Visitation will be one hour\r\nprior to the service. Private burial will be in Forest\r\nHill Cemetery\r\nin Eau Claire.
