John R. Boberg, 72, of 1521 Rust Street died Sunday, April 28, 1996 at his home. He was born May 5, 1923 in Eau Claire to Edwin and Hazel (Johnson) Boberg.John graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1941. He received his BA in Economics from UW Madison in 1950. On January 23, 1954 he married Yvonne C. Nelson in Eau Claire. \r\nHe retired as Senior Vice President at First Federal Savings and Loan in 1982 after thirty- two years of service. He currently was self employed as a real estate broker and computer consultant.\r\nHe was an active member of the Eau Claire Community serving on several boards and committees including Luther Hospital Board and was a past president of the Eau Claire Country Club and Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce. He was a 50-year member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Yvonne; a daughter, Janet Boberg of Glendale, AZ; a son, Tom (Susan); and a granddaughter, Kimberlyn Boberg, all of Omaha, NE; a sister, Barbara Stevenson of Racine; two nieces and a nephew.\r\nJohn was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Robert Duff officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.Friends may call 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday (Today) at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to First Congregational United Church of Christ or Luther Hospital.
