John Peter Brenner "Pete", 95, of Eau Claire died September 19 peacefully in his sleep. John was born June 19, 1928, to Peter and Susan (McGinley) Brenner of Mondovi, and was raised in the Mondovi area. He graduated from Mondovi High School in 1945. John married Marceleen Polhamus on October, 15, 1960, and they remained married for life. John worked at Wood Motors and G&K in Eau Claire, and in his spare time enjoyed "tinkering" with old cars. John also enjoyed having a couple beers and watching the Green Bay Packers play. John and Marceleen also enjoyed going to the area casinos for an occasional evening out and enjoyed the fish fries at local churches and restaurants. John is survived by; his wife Marceleen, sister, Ann Brenner of Mondovi, brother, James Brenner of Temecula, California and sons, Steven Brenner of Maple Grove, MN and Jeffrey Brenner of Eau Claire, daughter, Jennifer Johnson (Bill) of Eau Claire, three grandsons, Zane, Wyatt, and Luke Johnson of Eau Claire, and a great- grandson, Toby Johnson of Eau Claire. John was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Paul of Chicago. A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire with Fr. James Kurzynski officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
