John W. Christofferson, 71, of 1721 Rist Avenue died Monday, March 18, 1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born March 3, 1925 in Eau Claire to Clarence and Kristie (Johnson) Christofferson. John graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1942. On June 2, 1942 John was united in marriage to Audrey L. Wilson in Ashland. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on December 5, 1945. He was owner and operator of the Tan Top Bakery for fifty years until 1976 and was self-employed as a carpenter doing home remodeling until his retirement. John was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Audrey; three sons, John Jr. (Kay) of Rice Lake, Michael (Bev) and Alan (Judy) of Eau Claire; three daughters, Sharon (James) Nietz of Buffalo Grove, IL, Kristie (Howard) Kinderman of Gulfport, MS, and Jeri (Randy) Seidling of Mooselake, MN; twenty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 2 P.M. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Obert I. Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery.Friends may call 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
