JOHN B. HAUG, 82, formerly of 928 Water St., died Saturday, January 1, 2000 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. He was born in Eau Claire on January 28, 1917 to Sever and Gertrude (Drugseth) Haug.\r\nJohn graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the Class of 1935. He served in the U.S.Army during WWII, and was honorably discharged on December 13, 1945.\r\nJohn married Leona H. Prill on August 6, 1938 in Lansing, Iowa. He worked at Uni-royal Tire Company for 43 years, retiring as an Inspector in 1979. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include two sons, John (Susanne) of Rhinelander, Eugene (Sylvia) of Eau Claire; two daughters, Sharon (Herb) Zunker of Shoreview, MN, and Joann Johnson of Eau Claire; eleven grandchildren, Anthony (Lori), Matthew, Jason and Christine Haug, Scott, Kelly and Greg Haug, Angie (Doug) Howe, Brad Zunker, Laurie (Franz) Federiuk and Linda (Dave) Moss; eight great-grandchildren; brother, George Haug of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Eunice Haug of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nJohn was preceded in death by his wife Leona in 1998; his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Sigvald; and a son-in-law, Duwaine "Duke" Johnson.\r\nMemorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\nThe family suggests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
