John "Jack" C. O'Mera, 70, of Eau Claire died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at his home following his illness with cancer. He was born in Knapp, Wisconsin to John and Lola (Crosby) O'Mera on December 10, 1933. Jack was raised in the Knapp area and graduated from Boyceville High School. He then served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.\r\nJack worked for Woodard Electric, Dunn County Hospital, Diamond Transportation of Racine, and for the Wisconsin State Patrol. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Eau Claire County for fourteen years, retiring in 1988 as a Huber Officer. His last part-time job was with John Dotseth Truck Lines of Menomonie.\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Deanne; stepdaughter, Sherry (Steve) Hansen and their children, Kyja, Jerick, Leah, and Alanah all of Eleva; stepson, Jamie Bauer of Arvada, CO, and his son, Coty Rossow of Eau Claire; a brother, Douglas (Ruth) O'Mera of Bella Vista, AK; and sisters, including his "baby" sister, Kathy (Ron) Harper of Strum.\r\nJack was a beloved "Papa" to his five grandchildren.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery where VFW Post #305 will conduct military rites. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour prior to services Wednesday, both at the funeral home.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, Jack's family prefers memorials directed to Triniteam, 202 Graham Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701 or to Heifer Project International, P.O.
