Obituary

John "Jack" E. Tainter, 72, of 2829 Morningside Drive died Friday, April 5, 1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born October 31, 1923 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Jeremiah and Ada (Wilberg) Tainter. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1942. Jack married Mary C. Flynn on April 24, 1954 in Eau Claire. They were married for 22 years and had one daughter, Mary Beth. On September 2, 1977 he married Catherine L. Posz. \r\nHe served in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Jack was a draftsman at Uniroyal from the forties until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of VFW Post # 305 and had been an active member of the Elks B P O Lodge No 402.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Mary Beth (David) Lichtor; two grandsons, Peter and Brian all of St. Paul, MN.; two brothers, Andrew (Pat) Tainter and A. Dean (Wanda) Tainter; a sister, Ruth (John) Houman all of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Father Charles J. Hiebl of St. Patricks Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M.
