John P. Johnson, 85, of Amery, died Monday May 12, 2008, in Amery, WI.\r\nHe was born on May 21, 1922, to Severt and Clara (Rognass) Johnson in Dresser, WI. John graduated from Amery High School in 1941, and then attended the Milwaukee Vocational School. He worked and attended classes at the Waltham Watch Factory. John owned and operated the J.P. Johnson Jewelry and Gift Shop.\r\nHe married Doris E. Thompson on February 1, 1947, in Hatton, ND.\r\nJohn served in the infantry in the US Army.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Doris; a son, Brian (Randi) Johnson of Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Justin, Luke, Kristin, Kari and Jesse Johnson; three brothers, Stanley (Nancy) of Amery, James (Shirley) of Henderson, NV, Richard (Audrey) of Maple Grove, MN; two sisters, Martha (Bob) Shellum of Minneapolis, and Louise (Wayne) Anderson of Turtle Lake, WI; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by a son Ralph; and his parents.\r\nGraveside services with Military Rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008, at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township, WI.
