John Arthur "Jack" Lawrence, 72, of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was born on July 27, 1940, in Decatur, IL. Jack received a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Missouri at Rolla. He spent most of his career with Owens-Illinois in Ohio and Illinois. Jack's passionate hobby was working on automobiles, often attending to family and friends automotive needs. Jack was 32nd degree Mason. Jack is survived by sons, Jim Lawrence of Eau Claire and Steve Lawrence of Center Point, IA; step-sons, Rob (Brenda) Sutter of Sycamore, IL and Jim (Kelly) Sutter of Eau Claire. He was preceded in death by wife, Kathy; parents, Carl and Mabel Lawrence; and brother, Steve Lawrence. Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Brandon Pangman will be officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
