John F. McMahon, 66, of Eau Claire died Monday, August 4, 2008, at the Syverson Home.\r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on September 4, 1941, the son of Edward and Margery (Neururer) McMahon.\r\nJohn married Martha M. Manz on February 14, 1959, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. \r\nHe worked in maintenance at Pope&Talbot until his retirement in 2003.\r\nJohn is survived by his wife, Martha; three children, Martie Lou McMahon of Bloomington, MN, Steve (Leigh) McMahon of Eau Claire, and David (Cheri) McMahon of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren, Angela and Laura Jones, Mickey and Jason McMahon, and Kristin and Stephen McMahon; one great grandchild, Amaya Jones; sister, Kathleen (Jerry) Kortness of Spooner; three brothers, Jim (Lynn) McMahon of Green Bay, Ed (Shari) McMahon, and Patrick (Coleen) McMahon both of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Judy McMahon.\r\nMass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Arokia Savio and Deacon Larry J. Agema officiating. Private family burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire at a later date. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of mass at the church.
