Obituary

John E. "Johnny Red" Sorenson, 63, of Eau Claire died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Luther Hospital. He was born August 13, 1940 in Eau Claire, the son of Arthur and Lillian (Hanson) Sorenson. He graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School with the class of 1958.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 in supply and communications.\r\nJohn played in many country western bands as a drummer. He played with the Dave Dudley Band and recorded "Six Days on the Road".\r\nJohn married Janet L. Eder on February 28, 1976 in St. Paul, MN.\r\nHe worked at Ben Franklin, Thompson's True Value Hardware and then at Lehman Drug Store for over 20 years.\r\nHe enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, talking on the C.B. radio and his dogs Chico and Tina ("Peanut").\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Janet; brother, Paul (Joanne) of Eau Claire; three sisters-in-law, Marcella (Steve) Bowe of Chippewa Falls, Susan Boehm (friend Darryl Hendrickson) of Fall City, Carol Cramer (Don Waller) of Menomonie; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Linda) Eder and Patrick Eder both of Elk Mound; mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Fern Eder of Elk Mound; two aunts, Helen (Donald) Everson and Dorothy Hanson both of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews.\r\nJohn was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
