John H. Stensrud, 86 of 1405 Truax Blvd., Eau Claire died Friday, January 9, 2004 at Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was born in Marquette, Michigan on January 17, 1917, the oldest of the four children of John and Alma (Limpke) Stensrud.\r\nAs a young boy, John moved with his family to Minneapolis where he later attended vocational school, receiving electrical training. John worked as an electrician moving to Barton, West Bend and then to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He lived for a time in the state of Washington. \r\nHe loved patriotic music, the men's breakfasts at Dove and car rides through Downtown Eau Claire reminiscing about points of interest. He enjoyed his coffee and the social time telling stories about the many interests in his life.\r\nJohn is survived by his many close friends and staff at Dove Healthcare.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and other family members.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in the chapel at Dove Healthcare with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the Center. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving his family.
