John Patrie Thornton, 65, of Eau Claire, WI died after a lengthy illness on November 8th, 2023. John was born on August 29, 1958 to John and Helen (Patrie) Thornton. John attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Regis High School in 1976. He then attended Chippewa Valley Technical College for a program in refrigeration and air conditioning. He held several jobs in electronics and as a technician. John found enjoyment in being outdoors fishing and being at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin. In his younger years he was an avid downhill skier and loved to go snowmobiling. He also enjoyed cooking and riding motorcycles. He recently enjoyed a trip to Montana to go trout fishing. John was preceded in death by his parents, John & Helen Thornton, his nephew Mark Keene and great niece Miranda Willey. He is survived by his siblings, Mary (Dan) Hanson, Pat (Larry) Gabus, Janet (Blake) Oehme, Rose (Rob) Brooking and many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
