Jon Edward McSorley, 58, died in Eau Claire on August 28,2015 surrounded by his loving family. Jon was born in Eau Claire on August 21, 1957 to parents William David and Shirley McSorley. He grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Regis High School in 1975. He married Sue Mathson on August 21, 1976. They had two children~Emily and Jacob of whom he was very proud. Jon lived most of his life in Eau Claire and worked as a salesman for ATI selling auto parts and cars, and later selling plants near and far for Plant Marketing. Most recently he owned his own wood manufacturing business. He loved working with people in whatever he did and made many lifelong friends in his different occupations. Jon enjoyed working with cars and spending time with his many friends and family. He loved camping and boating on Lake Holcombe throughout his life and later moved there and commuted until returning to Eau Claire in 2013. He was also an avid Packer fan and enjoyed going to games and visiting friends in Green Bay. He loved getting together to watch the games with friends and family. Jon is survived by his wife Sue, his children Emily Anne (Brad) Dittner, Jacob Andrew McSorley (Brogan Hofstedt), and his cherished granddaughters Briana and Scarlett. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters William David III (Rita) McSorley, Karen (Mitchell) McDonald, Margaret (Thomas) Culbert, Melinda (Phillip) Neuheisel, Theresa (Jim) Zoellner, and Paul (Nikki) McSorley, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Other survivors include his father and mother-in-law, Leland and Barbara Mathson, his sisterin- law Lori (Kevin & Alexandra) Ufret, and his wonderful caring friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Michael McDonald. Visitation for Jon will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 31, with a prayer service following at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 Eleventh St., Eau Claire at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 with visitation an hour before the service. Fr. Tom Krieg will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
