Joseph A. "Joe" Shelton, 46, of Eau Claire, died on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls after a brief illness. He was born on June 21, 1965 in Eau Claire to Patricia (LaBlanc) Shelton. He went to North High School and attended CVTC to receive a precision inspection degree. He also received his commercial driving license (CDL). He worked many jobs in quality assurance, most recently for Riverside Machine and Engineering in Chippewa Falls. Joe loved fishing, listening to music, watching movies, sleepovers with his nieces and nephews, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Joe is survived by his daughter, Marie Shelton (fiancé Dan Rude); grandchildren, Zander and Zachariah; sister, Andrea (Rick) Walters; brother, Daniel (Dana) Shelton; aunt, Audrey Gallagher; uncle, Ron (Norma) LaBlanc; fiancée, Debbie Peppler; nieces and nephews, Michaela, Emma, and Jesse Walters, and Alyssa and Alexa Shelton; step-children, Kyle and Mike Giedd; step-granddaughter, Daisy; special dog, Montana; and other relatives and friends. Joseph will be joining his mother, Patricia Shelton and grandparents, Daniel and Ione LaBlanc in heaven. Funeral Service will be at 7 p.m. on Friday February 17, 2012 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. Eau Claire, with Fr. Brian Konopa officiating. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be this spring at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
