JOSEPH P. STEIN, 91, formerly of St. Francis Apts., has gone home to meet Myrtle " who he deeply loved", on Friday, August 8, 1997 at the Clairemont Nursing Home. He was born August 18, 1905 in Eau Claire to Joseph and Mary(Grill) Stein. Joe married Myrtle Hagen on April 29, 1926 in Belvedere, Illinois. Together they were grocers in Milwaukee before moving to Eau Claire in 1957 where they owned and operated J and M Superette.\r\nSurvivors include; two daughters, Lois Geroux of Eau Claire and Karen-Jo Stein of Altoona; two sons, Gerald (Ann) Stein of Neenah and Dan (Arlene) Stein of Altoona;15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Lassek of Eau Claire, and Gertrude Krigbaum of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Herbert(Gwen) Stein of Altoona; many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle on June 18, 1997; a grandson Benji; a brother Ralph; two sisters, Marina and Lucille.\r\nJoe will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father and a "special" grandpa.\r\nFuneral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Rocky Gross officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral Home.
