Joyce E. Johnson, 77, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at her residence. She was born in Eau Claire on June 12, 1926, the daughter of Edwin and Ella (Wendt) Gustavson.\r\nJoyce married Arthur Robert Johnson in Iowa City, Iowa on November 7, 1945.\r\nShe worked as a clerk at her parents' grocery store, Gustavson Market and later worked at Jensen Drug and Lehman Drug.\r\nShe was a lifetime member at St. John's Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters and one son, Mary Ann (Curtis) McMartin, Richard "Rick" Johnson, both of Eau Claire, Barbara Olson of Chippewa Falls; a grandchild, Kelly Sue (James) Abraham of Chippewa Falls; a great grandchild, Kyle Abraham; a brother-in-law, Lowell T. (Patricia) Johnson of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Doris Gustavson of California; and nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; her brother, George Gustavson; and her sister, Geraldine Anderson.\r\nGraveside memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2003 at Lutheran Church Cemetery with Reverend Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.\r\nFamily suggests memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church.
