Joyce Marlene Lynnes, of Eau Claire, passed away March 2, 2011, after a short period with cancer in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was 75. She was born Joyce Marlene Gilberg in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on "Good Friday" April 19, 1935, a daughter of Melvin and Florence Gilberg. She was predeceased by her two older siblings, Dennis "Denny" and Virginia "Ginny" Heuer. As a child she enjoyed swimming, gymnastics and singing. Joyce could walk the length of the gym in high school on her hands and even the long driveway at home while in her 60's. She could also swim faster and stronger than any of her older brother Denny's friends. She shared Denny's sense of humor and lost him fittingly, on April 1, 2002. One of Joyce's fondest memories was when her sister Ginny dressed her up and took her to have a professional photograph when she was only five. Her sister Ginny was a great friend and she passed January 7th, 2004. While in high school Joyce met David George Lynnes, a drummer in the "Teddy Martin Band". They were married June 7, 1952. Shortly after their marriage, they temporarily relocated to West Allis, Wisconsin. Their first daughter, Debra Kim was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They returned to Eau Claire and five years later they had their second daughter, Karen Janett. After yet another five years passed, they had their last daughter, Wendy Ann. Joyce was a great stay at home mother to all her girls and they were her greatest reward. Dave and Joyce resided in the home she dreamed of having since she was just twelve years old. Joyce was a Girl Scout Troop leader and mentored many young girls. She enjoyed teaching them the importance of companionship, compassion and how to be prepared in life. They would often visit nursing homes and perform for the residents. Later she became a Sweet Adeline and was also the Lead in a quartette. Another love of hers was performing in the Eau Claire Service League. Her most memorable role was "Stupefying Jones" in Lil' Abner. She was quite an entertainer! Being the wife of an antique collector, she also had many lifelong friendships from the "Indianhead Antique Car Club". They were like family to her. For many years, Dave and Joyce hosted the party immediately following the "Saw Dust City Day's Gas Light Tour Parade" from Carson Park. Champagne corks could be found months after as a reminder of the great time had by all... Debbie married Stephen Gregerson 35 years ago, Wendy married Robert Peirce in 1996 and Karen married Paul Gordhamer in 2003. Joyce is a grandmother to Kyle, Sean and Corey Gregerson, Jason Lee, and Kelly and Bobby Peirce. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Cameryn and Lilly Gregerson, children of Kyle. Also survived by brother-in-law, Allen Lynnes; sister-in-law, Jean Gilberg; nieces and nephews, Gary Heuer, Pam (Heuer) Sorenson, Mickey Lynnes, Kris (Lynnes) Hurley, Mark and Tom Lynnes, and Mark and Scott Gilberg; along with many other relative. Predeceased by sister-in-law Dorothy (Tootie) Lynnes and bothers-in-law, Gutch Heuer and Donald Lynnes
