Joyce Kay Michelson May 13, 1951 – August 16, 2025

Joyce Kay Michelson, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Known affectionately as Kay, or "Kay Kay," she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and the heart of her family.

Kay was born on May 13, 1951. She was, in the words of those who loved her, "the best mom in the whole world." Even as dementia touched her final years, her kindness, humor, and unwavering love continued to shine through, leaving behind a legacy that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Roger Hanson, and their children: Zak and his son Noah; Jessie and her partner Nate; Alex and his partner Samantha with their children Jemma and Beck; Jed and his daughter Enna; and Izaiah with his son Eli and Izaiah's partner Casey with their son Ollie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertram and Elizabeth (Hermsen) Michelson, and her sister, Hope.

A Celebration of Life honoring Kay will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Tony Schmidt Regional Park picnic shelter in Arden Hills, MN. Family and friends will gather among the outdoors, music, and flowers she loved so dearly.
