Joyce E. Orovich, former Mayville resident, passed away on February 28, 2009 in Eau Claire Wisconsin. She was born on January 27, 1927 to Joseph and Mabel (Sorenson) Smith. Joyce graduated from Suring High School and attended Edgewood College. On August 9, 1947, she married Nick Orovich.\r\nShe was employed for many years at Mayville Die&Tool. Following their retirement, Joyce and Nick moved to Crystal River, Florida. Declining health brought her to Eau Claire to be near family.\r\nJoyce was an avid golfer and swimmer; a member of St. Mary's in Mayville and St. Benedict's in Crystal River; the Crystal River Women's Club; and a volunteer with the Special Olympics.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Barbara (Mike) Ries, Eau Claire; son, Nicholas (Jeremy) Orovich, Exeter, NH; grandchildren, Daniel and Michael (Jill) Ries, Olivia and Stephan Orovich; great grandchildren, Halli and Lena Ries; sisters Jane (Chuck) Nelson and Jeanette Arndt; sister-in-law, Phyllis Smith.\r\nJoyce was preceded in death by her husband, Nick on February 12, 2002; her parents, and her brother Joseph Smith. Funeral services were held on March 7, 2009 at St. James the Greater, Eau Claire. Burial will be at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Memorials may be directed to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, or charity of choice. Lenmark, Gonsrud,&Linn of Eau Claire served the family.\r\n
