Joyce C. (Milledge) Simmons, 64, of Eau Claire, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls, WI. She was born in Eau Claire on August 25, 1951, a daughter of Theodore and Dorothy (Peterson) Milledge. Joyce graduated from Memorial High School, with the Class of 1969. Joyce married Steven Simmons after high school. Together they had one son, Matthew. They later divorced. Joyce had worked as a CNA in Eau Claire and later moved to Seattle, WA, with her son, where she lived for 20 years. She moved back to Eau Claire to take care of her mother. Joyce was a very artistic person and loved to paint and draw. She had an extensive taste in music, a great sense of humor, loved to decorate with flair. Joyce is survived by her son, Matthew; three grandchildren, Courtney, Austen, and Preston; one sister, Faith Milledge; two brothers, Daniel (Caroline) Milledge and Paul (LuAnn) Milledge; several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends; and life-long friends Diana Duffenbach Rathke and Diane May Howard. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Joseph Milledge. Memorial Services for Joyce will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Dennis Pond officiating. Visitation will be one half hour prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Joyce's family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center for the care given to Joyce during her stay. Joyce will be missed by her family and friends.
