Judith E. Best, age 73, formerly of Elk Mound, died on June 14, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System, in Eau Claire. Judy was born on October 19, 1940, to Sidney and Abbie (Melrose) Williams in Eau Claire, WI. Judith married Ervin Best on January 7, 1962, at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. Judith was a member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church since 1973. At Big Elk Creek, she was active with their quilting circle and many other activities. During her younger years, she enjoyed her summers in Alma at the cottage with her family. Judy could always be found working in her garden, and was always busy with many projects around her yard and home. She was a true "jack of all trades". She was a great baker and always had a willingness to learn something new. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and crafts with her friends at Orchard Hills and will be greatly missed by many. Judith is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband; Ervin. She is survived by her two sons, Clifford (Marcie) Best and David (Cindy) Hanson-Best; four grandchildren, Trevor and Nathan Best, Kami and Noah Hanson-Best; and brother, Jim (Gloria) Williams; along with many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 1405, N. Clairemont Ave. A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, 6118 County Hwy M, Elk Mound WI, 54739, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Hal A. Schroetter will be officiating. Interment will be in Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
