Judy Lynn Girard "Giggles", age 73 of Eau Claire passed away after a brave and courageous nine month battle against pancreatic cancer. She died on Monday, December 12, 2011 with her eldest daughter Debbie Heath and sister Pat Huftel at her side. She was born on August 18, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Ragna Ludwikoski. She graduated Eau Claire High School in 1956. Judy had numerous jobs including Bank Teller, Cashier at U-Can Recycling Center, and Child Care Provider. Judy had a passion for reading books and sharing them with friends. She enjoyed butterflies and her monthly lunch meetings with high school classmates. Children were Judy's greatest joy and she would like to be remembered as someone whose entire life was dedicated to children. She was a great mother to her two daughters and four grandchildren. She cared for children at The Learning Center daycare and babysat for numerous families. Judy would like to be known by the following well-known quote: "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child." She lived for special time spent with her numerous friends and family. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening. She spent her last few months staying active, despite her illness. She will be well remembered by her sense of humor. Judy is survived by her children; Debbie (Jeff) Heath, Ann Marie (Brian) McNamara; Sister, Pat (Redgie) Huftel; Grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Horner, Matt Heath, Fiona McNamara, Julian McNamara; Special friend, Elger Cramer; Niece, Tami Huftel; and Nephew, Rick Huftel. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Ludwikoski and mother Ragna Ludwikoski. Pall Bearers for the funeral will be Matt Heath, Josh Horner, Dalton Huftel, Redgie Huftel, Rick Huftel, and Robert Koppen. Funeral Service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. with Msgr. Edmund Klimek officiating. Visitation will start at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
