Obituary

Judy Marie Heintz, 53, of Eau Claire, joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven following a lengthy illness on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire with her family by her side. She was born on March 7, 1958, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI, a daughter to Dale and Shirley (Ganther) Heintz. She graduated from Eau Claire North High School in 1976 and earned her LPN degree from Eau Claire Vocational School in 1980. Judy worked as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital, Chippewa Manor, and at Midelfort Clinic until her medical retirement. Judy was an avid collector and enjoyed reading, needlework, and spending time with her family and friends, as well as her beloved cats Lucky and Cody. Judy will always be remembered for her kind, caring heart and her desire to help others. From the time she was young, she always wanted to be a nurse and take care of people and animals. Judy is survived by her mother, Shirley (Heintz) Ives; her father, Dale (Connie) Heintz; brothers, John (Judy) Heintz of Arlington, TN, and Chris (Ann) Heintz of Louisville, KY; sister, Janet (Dave) Eberhardt; 5 nieces; 4 nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her step father, Howard Ives in 2006, and her cat Suzie. A Celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with Reverend Laura Kelley officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington, on Thursday, October 20, 2011. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Reverend Laura Kelley, Chaplin Bruce Frederickson, special nurse, Cheryl, and all of the doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic Health System for their care and compassion of Judy and her family.
