IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy Ann
(Maccani) Martin
September 14, 1945 – September 6, 2024
Judy A Martin, 78, died peacefully, with all her children at her side, on September 6, 2024 after a year long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Judy was born September 14, 1945 in Bessemer, MI, the daughter of Leo and Micky (Hassinen) Maccani. She graduated in 1963 from DePadua Catholic High School in Ashland, WI . Judy attended Northland College in Ashland where she met and married Philip S Martin in 1964. Together with their 5 children, they moved to Eau Claire in 1975 where Judy furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Judy and Phil divorced in 1978. Judy was a loyal member of the Catholic churches in Eau Claire for almost 50 years, most recently with St. Olaf's parish. She spent 17 years working as Program Director for the Diocese of LaCrosse. While there, she founded the Eau Claire Area Separated, Divorced and Re-married Christian (SDRC) support group in 1979 and was instrumental in developing SDRC throughout a 19 county area. She then spent 25 years as an Administrative Assistant at Sacred Heart/St. Patrick's Parish. She retired in 2016. Judy's greatest joy, and unwavering pride in life, were her children, grandchildren and her faith. She spent many years sewing and creating custom t-shirts that she then sold at local craft fairs. In her later years she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Laughlin with her many friends and some she met along the way. Most recently, she cherished shorter trips to casinos with her dear friends, Mary and Bill Hanafin. Judy is survived by her 5 children; Roger (Julie), Bob (Janelle), Ryan (Carrie Nelson), Suzy and Rick (Joy Berry); grandchildren, Nate (Kayla) , John, Eric, Tia, Aaron (Alexa), Jessa, Sam, Maizee and Kinzee; great grandchildren, Colton, Kayden and Dax and her brother, James (Marti) Maccani. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Micky Maccani; a grandson, Matt Busse; her brother, Lee Maccani and many other close family members and friends.
