Julia Berg, 103, formerly of 435 Vine St., died Friday, November 8, 2002 at Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire. She was born April 27, 1899 to Mathias and Wilhelmina (Rye) Holte in the Town of Unity, Trempealeau County, WI. Julia married Edwin Berg on November 24, 1941 at First Lutheran Church. \r\nShe worked for many years as telephone operator for Wisconsin Bell and later took care of her mother until she passed away.\r\nJulia is survived by two nieces, Vera Weiler of Mesa, AZ and Betty Tweeten of Altoona; and four nephews, Leonard (Helen) Christianson of Eau Claire, Herbert Holte of Sparta, Wayne Holte of Strum and Gary Holte of Florida.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 1973; her parents; two sisters, Dora Christianson and Hilda Imms; and three brothers, Mark and infants, Harold and Halford Holte.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at First Lutheran Church Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
