JULIEN A. ANDERSON, 93, formerly of 524 Marshall St., died Tuesday, June 15, 1999 at Syverson Lutheran Home. He was born August 6, 1905 in Eau Claire to Anton and Carrie (Andreason) Anderson. Julien graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School and attended the Eau Claire Normal School for two years. On July 21, 1934, he married Cornelia E. Pedersen in Eau Claire. For 28 years he delivered mail, primarily in the Shaw-Town area of Eau Claire; a neighborhood dog, Victor, faithfully followed Julien on his route for many years.\r\nHe was a lifelong, active member of First Lutheran Church, sang in the choir for 60 years, was a member of the Keenagers, served on several church boards, and volunteered for many youth activities while his daughters were growing up. Julien was an active member of the Men's group, the Prayer Breakfast group, and the First Lutheran Dartball League. He was a member of NARF, and also, the first member of the Eau Claire Male Chorus.\r\nJulien's hobbies included singing, playing the harmonica, woodworking, doing crossword puzzles, as well as being an avid reader. His great sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone who knew him. \r\nSurvivors include four daughters: Joyce (Robert) Hanson of Elk Mound, Carol Anderson of Eagan, MN, Marlys (Bill) Sowaske of Hales Corners, and Nancy (John) Christenson of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren: Julie (Robert) Carr, Keith (Kris) Hanson, Lynne Hanson, Cheryl (Jeff) Keyes, Jill (Robert) Roffers, Laura (Robert) Roux, Michelle (Greg) Parr, and Brian (Jess) Christenson; five great-grandchildren: Erin and Samuel Carr, Lauren and Jared Roffers, and Jordyn Keyes; a sister, Margaret Winger; two sisters-in-law, Olga Martin and Gladys Shannon; two brothers-in-law, Einar (Beulah) Pedersen and Harvey (Dorothy) Pedersen; a niece, Ruth (Edward) Brooks; and a nephew, Eugene (Crystal) Anderson; and many more nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Cornelia, in 1991; his parents; and a brother, Adolph Anderson. \r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
