Obituary

Karen Kristine Burcar "Keke", age 55 of Eau Claire, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire WI, to Peter and Bonnie (Quilling) Sather, on October 17, 1958. Karen graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1976. She attended and graduated from CVTC with a marketing degree in 1993. She was always the life of the party and will be fondly remembered as a "jokester". She always lived in the spirit of the moment which made her life eventful. She lived in many states traveling from coast to coast. Karen very much enjoyed classical rock & roll, jazz and blues music as well as going to live concerts. She enjoyed dancing, walking the rivers of Eau Claire on hot summer days and spending time at the cabin on Island Lake. Karen is survived by her daughter, Leslie "Lele" (Matthew) Bruns-Fralich; granddaugher, Taylor "Tiki" of Minneapolis; parents, Peter H. & Bonnie Sather of Eau Claire; brother, Peter A. Sather of New Orleans; nephews, Destin Sather of New Orleans and Peter D. Sather of Montreal; cousin, Janet Homme of New Auburn; along with other relatives and many very special friends. She is preceded in death by Leslie's father, Robert. Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastors Amy Odgren and Lowell Halvorson will be officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date.
