KAREN MARIE LOKKEN, 63, 1167 E. Madison St., died Friday, July 30,1999 at Luther Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1936 to Louis and Anne (McGinty) Scheffler in Eau Claire. She graduated from Regis High School with the class of 1955. \r\nKaren married Paul Lokken in Eau Claire on December 31, 1955. She was a volunteer at Regis High School where she taught religious instruction for the disabled. Karen was also an active member of the St. Ann's Society at Sacred Heart Church. \r\nSurvivors include her husband, Paul Sr.; five sons, Paul (Judy) of Plymouth, MN, David (Debbie) of Barron, WI, Michael (Marian), Thomas (Katie Rivero) and Peter (Terri Handrich) all of Eau Claire; four daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) Skaaland, Jennifer, and Patricia (James Zais) all of Eau Claire, and Margaret (Darren Kassera) of Coon Rapids, MN; 12 grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Kristen, Anna, Joshua, Amanda, James, Sean, Cole, Juranda, Chris and Rikki; a brother, Patrick (Joanne) Scheffler and three sisters, Lenore (Marshall) Quigg, Beth (Jerry) Fisher, and Margaret (Gus) Sturz all of Eau Claire. Her parents preceded her in death.\r\nKaren loved painting, refinishing antique furniture, camping, cooking, and doing volunteer work. She enjoyed being with her large family and friends. St. Patrick's Day will always be a special day of remembrance of Karen, with her family and friends. \r\nServices will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church. There will be Public Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
