Kathleen Ann (Ziebell) Wolford, 59, of Altoona, WI, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008, under the care of Northwest Hospice at Clairemont Nursing and Rehab Center in Eau Claire after suffering a battle with cancer.Kathy was born April 30, 1948, to Herbert and Mildred (Harrington) Ziebell in Eau Claire, WI. She attended the Colfax Elementary and High School. While in school, she was active in the band, choir, and cheerleading. After school hours, she worked in the restaurants in Colfax. She worked for National Presto Industries after graduating from high school. Kathy had a great love for cooking.Kathy married David Peterson. They had two sons, David and Richard while living in El Paso, Texas. After later moving to Eau Claire, they divorced. Kathy married Charles P. Wolford on August 4, 1980, in Webster, ND. They made their home in Eau Claire and Altoona for all their married life. They had one son, Charles II "Murphy".Kathy is survived by her husband, Charles Wolford of Altoona; three sons, David Peterson of U.S.A.F., Holland, Richard Peterson of Eau Claire, and Charles II (Amanda) Wolford of Eau Claire; and by a new grandson, Gavin Wolford. Also by three brothers, Eugene Ziebell and Robert (Algie) Ziebell, both of Colfax, Duane (Candy) Ziebell of Mukwonago, WI; a sister, Patricia Lisonbee of Coeur D'Alene, ID; her aunt, Wynona Severson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and by her former husband David Peterson of Chippewa Falls.She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a nephew, John "B.J." Ziebell; and by several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home in Eau Claire, with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of services at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Colfax, WI.In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
